I think today is a day , were I really need to get caught-up on all my work. I need to get all my articles written. I have an action plan of writing three articles a day. I managed to get little workout in today , on my Gazelle.

I have a not had any time to write, in my blog, recently. I have been really swamped with work. I have never been so busy, as much as I am now. I have taken on some work with Today.com as blogger. The topics I write about in my blog are on the " Soaps ".

I have also been busy homeschooling my 4 year old.

Balance Act

I had such a hard time. getting up out of bed this morning. I don't think I have ever been this tired, before. My daugther has kept me up , practically all night. I have just been surviving off , caffeine.

Caffeine ....Caffeine ...and lots of it.

I managed to get a few of my favourite books read.

I hope and pray , that I actually get....REST

Deciding on curriculum

I am still deciding on curriculum for my children.I have decided on to use Sonlight Curriculum for my kids. I like that the planning is all mapped out for me. As suppose me to slaving over planning curriculum. I chose Sonlight curriculum for a reason , the reason being that I am able to use material for my older children and transfer that same material for my young children.

Though the Sonlight curriculum , may not be for everyone. Because of it's literature-based approach.
Their is a lot of reading involved.

Lulu

Earlier this week, I joined the Lulu community. I am really considering self-publishing my first book. I have been going to the library , and reading everything their is to know about writing. I am totally obsessed with writing.

I can't wait to publish my very own book.

New Adventures in homeschooling

I've recently started to home - school my son. When he first started school, he was presumed to be fine with the idea. Later he started to face some difficulties. His teacher was so impatient. That she had suggested that I bring him to school for an hour a day.

This idea was great for her , " one less child for her to educate "!

But this was not a great idea for my son and I. He only came to school to learn the wonderful " Oh Canada " !

As a parent I felt so , horrible having to tell my son that he was not going: be able to eat his snack at school anymore.

I pulled my son out of the public school system ; to home-school him .

Speed Reading Programs

I have been in search for some great , speed reading programs. I searched the Internet looking at programs and books, on the subject " I really wonder " If it speed reading really works !

Balancing work and home

Striking a balance , between the two is not easy. For some working from home can seem to be so glamorous . " Believe me " , it is totally a balancing act. Especially if your a parent. I love the fact that I no longer have to pay for gas.

The First Day Of School

On Monday was the first day of school for my 4 year old. I was so nervous, and so excited at the same time. He seemed so excited at first, but later on in the day , he seemed to be so upset. My guess was , he was really upset that his little sister , was not going to school, too.

I completely sympathize with him , how he must feel. I just had to make sure he understood that in a couple of years that his little sister , will eventually go to school, too.

The work at home revolution

With the changes in the Canadian and American economy. I truly believe that more and more people will start working from their homes. The time has come were people have control over where they work. The Internet makes all things possible.Parents have the chance to enjoy family life and work , all at the same time.

Getting an online education

My thoughts on individuals getting a online education. Well ! we just have to look at the cost of gas prices , which seems to be going sky high lately and realize that getting a online education is the wave of the future. Lots of students are unable to pay for school. Simply because of our global recession. On only does this help the environment. I also truly believe that the Internet has helped , make this possible.

Professor Teaches Software

I have recently brushed-up on my computer skills. I am using a wonderful product from Individual software , which is called Professor Teaches Office , Windows and Web Graphics. This software is absolutely fantastic for its tutorials and step-by-step instruction. I suggest that more people who are wanting to learn windows applications , essentially use this software.

Partition Software

I recently found some great software for partitioning my desktop, I have two computers.
One of my computers is an Acer desktop and the other is an Asus EEE PC 2g mobile PC. The operating system I am using with my Asus mobile PC , is linux. The operating system I am using with my Acer desktop is Windows Vista.

A few months ago, I was able to order a free CD , to get Ubuntu Linux live CD. I was so happy when the CD arrived in the mail. I immediately booted the CD to my hard drive and had to two OS'S , available on my computer.The only problem was it , took up way to much space. The next thing was for me to do, was to figure out how to remove it.

This was not an easy task, for "I'm not a computer guru ".

I searched the Internet frantically for a quick solution. What I found was a how-to video on You tube on how to do this seamlessly . The video I viewed gave me the information I needed to move forward. I purchased some software from a company called Avanquest , the software was called Partition commander 10.

All I did was delete the partition my ubuntu linux was booted on my computer, and the updated the MBR. This may sound difficult to do for a novice, I can't even belief I learned that all by myself.

I still use Ubuntu linux , but I use it inside my Windows OS.

Radio show update !

It was a fabulous show on Saturday night. I really enjoyed chatting on my "radio show". I have really love all the new forms of media available on the net. It really has my creative juices flowing.

I wanted to make sure that all my readers had access to my radio show and were able to hear what I have been up to lately. My next radio show is live to hear on Sat July 26, 2008.

Saturday Night

I will having my first radio show on the air this weekend, I am so excited. I am finally living my childhood dream. I totally love everything having to do with media.
I have been working on some material all-night.

I am so please with the way technology is going , this days. It is so easy for people to create , anything. Starting a home based business is so easy. It may take a little work, of course.

I know working from home is not for everyone.

It defiantly has it's advantages. Like being able to set your own hours Taking that vacation when you want to. Absolutely no boss , watching over your shoulders.

Today I found a great web page creator from Google. I Find it incredibly easy to use for people , who have no knowledge of HTML programming. I think this is great for small businesses.

I Can't belive the changes with " Microsoft "

"I can't believe", what I heard on the news today about big time businessman Mr. Bill Gates. He has stepped down from his thorn at Microsoft. I have been using "Windows" for years. I do know that times have changed drastically.Know there are so many free distributions of OS. I really wonder what this means for Windows future.

"It was stated on the news that Mr Bill Gates" has stepped down as chairman and will be relieved from daily goings on within Microsoft. Mr Bill Gates will still remain on the board of directors.

Really what does this mean for its " Windows Users".

I guess we soon shall, see !

Outsourcring work

I have been in search of outsource companies to work for. I have researched a few from Internet, such as: Elance, Ifreelance and Guru. I have found lots of information on Elance. Elance.com seems to be the website, which is highly recommended.

I will try Elance.com for work, first.

About ZOHO Word processor !

I found a great tool from the internet. I was doing some searching on the internet and found a great website called www.zoho.com . The website has a free wordprocessor and whole lot of free office usable stuff. Guess what! "no downloading needed".

This a great site if you are a person like me, who works from home.

Radio fantastic !

Another day of success for me. I plan on starting my very own a radio show on Blogtalkradio. I love all forms of media , when it comes to the Internet. I am currently working on some ideas right now for my upcoming shows. I will be adding them to my blog shortly. STAY TUNED !!

Keep a schedule

The hardest thing while being in business for yourself is staying on a schedule. It is quite easy to fall off track.There are so many distractions available while running a home business.

Here are some prime examples of household distractions:

3.) Household Chores
4.) Telephone


Solutions:

1.) Keep a organizer.
2.) Try to work while the children are asleep.
3.) Let family and friends know that you are busy at certain times of the day.

I love this awesome tool from Google, It's called ScribeFire.

It is an add on for your Modzilla Firefox add-ons. This is must- have for any blogger to have. The other benefit is that it is free.

Tax Time

Today a is day where I manage to get all my receipts together.

"Oh Boy" , the dreaded taxes. I is this where I take time out of my business, to do taxes.

I know what you all must be thinking ? . Why don't I just hire accountant to do this for me. I am just a little to old fashion for that. I really enjoy doing things for myself.

Organizing !!

As a work- at -home mom . It can be hard sometimes to get my work done.

I usually have to spread out my activities and execute a daily routine. It is amazing to see how much, I actually fit into my day.

"You are probably wondering", what it is I do from home ? . I am a Freelance Writer/Blogger. In this day in age , I can't imagine myself doing any other occupation.
Getting up in the morning to write ,writing ,simply gives a thrill.

However , it can sometimes be difficult to write with my children screaming in the background.

As I sit at the window , and stare into space. I Think to myself how life is so full of surprises.
And life can also bring fourth some disappointments , as well.

Writing in my blog is like going on a adventure.

I have had the time to view a large range of favorable cell phones. There are really a great range of unbelievable gadgets. I am a mom who loves her " tech gadgets". I have made the decision to buy a LG Shine cell in hot pink, to my Asus EEE Pc that I have in pink.
